The Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited (Sponsor) which has a significant experience in managing long term investments of life and pension funds and an expertise in managing long term employee benefit funds and annuities for many corporates including PSUs.

Pension Fund Manager
ICICI Prudential Pension Funds Management Company Limited (the Company) is a fund manager for managing the funds collected under the NPS for Indian citizens other than government employees and is the only pension fund manager promoted by a life insurance company.
The Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited (Sponsor) which has a significant experience in managing long term investments of life and pension funds and an expertise in managing long term employee benefit funds and annuities for many corporates including PSUs.
The company began its operations in May 2009 after it was appointed by Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) as a pension fund manager.
ICICI Group provides the following services under NPS:
- ICICI Bank Limited offers POP services through its designated branches. Customers can also use the online platform of www.icicidirect.com offered by ICICI Securities Limited to open and operate NPS accounts
- ICICI Prudential Pension Funds Management Company Limited is a fund manager under NPS.
- ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited is an annuity service provider appointed by PFRDA.
Board of Directors
Sandeep Bakhshi
Mr. Sandeep Bakhshi joined ICICI Group in 1986 in the project financing group of ICICI Bank, Corporate banking. In March 2002, he was appointed as the Managing Director & CEO of ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Limited. In May 2009, he was appointed as the Deputy Managing Director of the ICICI Bank, where he was responsible for Wholesale Banking and SME. He has joined ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited as the Managing Director & CEO w.e.f. August 1, 2010.
Mr. Sandeep Bakhshi is an engineer by qualification from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh and holds a post-graduate degree in management from Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur.
Puneet Nanda
Mr. Puneet Nanda is Executive Director at ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited (ICICI Prudential). Mr. Puneet Nanda has been with ICICI Prudential since inception and was the Chief Investment Officer responsible for setting up and managing the entire investment portfolio prior to being elevated to his current role. Prior to joining ICICI Prudential, Mr. Puneet Nanda had worked with a leading investment bank and an international financial services company.
Mr. Puneet Nanda is an engineer by qualification and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow in 1994.
Tarun Chugh
Mr. Tarun Chugh has over 14 years of experience in the financial services sector. Prior to joining ICICI Prudential, he has worked with ICICI Securities and BNP Paribas as an Investment Banker. He started with the Group Business at ICICI Prudential in January 2004 and has been instrumental in making ICICI Prudential the market leader in this segment.
He is an engineering graduate and holds a postgraduate in Management from the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow.
Mr. Vinod Kumar Dhall
Mr. Vinod Kumar Dhall entered the Indian Administrative Service in 1966 and retired as Secretary, Government of India. Subsequently, he was Member and acting Chairman of the Competition Commission of India for about 5 years till he resigned from the position in July, 2008. During his career, he specialized in the fields of Corporate Affairs, Industry, Commerce and Finance, in which his total experience has been for about 27 years. This includes previous experience of the insurance sector, regulatory experience, experience as Chairman/Member of Board of Directors of insurance companies, banks, development banks/financial institutions, Joint Sector undertakings and international experience. Mr. Vinod Kumar Dhall has handled issues pertaining to insurance, corporate governance, competition law and policy, industrial development and investment promotion, industrial financing, corporate law reforms, and economic regulation. He has also worked as CEO of PSUs.
Currently, Mr. Vinod Kumar Dhall has set up a law firm, specializing in corporate laws. He also advises and lectures on corporate governance issues.
Mr. M. N. Gopinath
Mr. M. N. Gopinath is a career banker who continues to be associated with the banking sector as a Director of Punjab National Bank. He joined Bank of India as a Probationary officer in 1970 and served them for 25 years, including 5 years at their New York Branch. He gained valuable exposure to all facets of banking including treasury, international banking, merchant banking, retail banking, rural banking, human resources management etc. At New York Branch he served as Vice President - Treasury, Vice President - Operations and Comptroller of US Operations consisting of three branches.
Mr. M. N. Gopinath has graduated in Commerce, holds a postgraduate degree of MBA and is also a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).
Mr. Uday Chitale
Mr. Uday Chitale is senior partner at M. P. Chitale & Co, Chartered Accountants. He has over 35 years of experience in the field of corporate auditing, commercial dispute resolution, business negotiation and valuations. He has served on expert committees of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, SEBI, RBI, IRDA and Indian Banks Association.
Mr. Uday Chitale is a graduate in Commerce and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in the year 1974. He is also a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Ms. Meghana Baji
Ms. Meghana Baji has been with ICICI group for over 13 years. Prior to joining ICICI Prudential life Insurance Company Limited, she was Assistant General Manager at ICICI Bank Limited heading Balance Sheet Management Group in its Treasury.
Ms. Meghana Baji is a Chartered Accountant with a PGDM from IIM Bangalore. She is also a Financial Risk Manager certified by Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP).
Ms. Meghana Baji is the CEO of ICICI Prudential Pension Funds Management Company Limited since inception. Prior to her deputation with ICICI Prudential Pension Funds Management Company Limited, Ms. Meghana Baji was Vice President - Investments at ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited looking after alternate asset investments and risk management.
